So you're wondering where to park your van to get ocean views on the Northern Beaches of Sydney? I've got you!
In December 2022, I joined the #vanlife and bought a 1997 Super Custom Toyota Hiace. I've set it up so I can work from the back of my van, and have been searching for the best spots to park up by the ocean!
Unfortunately, all of these spots require a Northern Beaches Parking Permit or payment. Usually, these paid spots become free before 7am or after 6-7pm.
1. Warriewood Beach
Head to Narrabeen Park Pde and take the turn-off down the steep hill to reach the bottom carpark. Almost all of the car spots will give you a view like this one!
2. North Narrabeen Lagoon

Opposite the NRMA Sydney Lakeside Holiday Park and right by Girdlers Cafe, you'll find this carpark right by the lagoon! Very tranquil.
3. Fisherman's Beach
Fisherman's Beach is on the South side of Collaroy, marking the start of the Collaroy to Long Reef Headland Walk. Drive down Anzac Ave in Collaroy towards the ocean, then turn into the golf club carpark on the right. Continue driving down this road and you'll end up at this spot.
4. South Curl Curl
Head down Carrington Pde to the south end of Curl Curl Beach and you'll find two carparks by the rock pool. Both have ocean views from your boot, the picture on the left was taken at the bottom carpark, and on the one the right - at the top.
5. Avalon Headland
Avalon Headland is a crowd favourite, particularly early in the morning to watch the sunrise! Turn off Barrenjoey Rd up the hill to Avalon Pde / Surfside Ave and drive right to the top!
There you have it. Feel free to DM us on Instagram if you find any good spots!
