About this walk...
Start at the northern end of Palm Beach car park. From there, stroll along Station Beach (the Pittwater side) heading north. After about 200 metres, you'll find the entrance to the walk.
At the fork, you have two choices:
Smugglers Track: A 400-metre climb with steep stairs, originally built by customs officers in the 1850s to monitor smugglers.
Access Trail: An 800-metre path that's less steep, making it more suitable for strollers or those preferring a gentler ascent.
Both tracks lead to the lighthouse, offering stunning 360-degree views of the Northern Beaches, Pittwater, and beyond.
Once at the lighthouse, you can continue walking out to the headland's rocky point. It's a great spot for panoramic views, but be cautious on the rocks.
The total walk is approximately 2.3 km return, taking about 90 minutes, depending on your pace and stops.
