About this walk...
The Blue Fish Track is a scenic 1.6-kilometre loop trail located within the North Head Sanctuary of Sydney Harbour National Park. It’s an easy to moderate walk that takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on your pace. The trail starts near the North Fort car park on North Head Scenic Drive and winds through a mix of bushland and rocky coastal areas.
You’ll enjoy beautiful views of Manly Beach, Sydney Harbour, and the city skyline along the way. The track features some gentle climbs and stairs, so comfortable shoes are recommended. At the North Fort visitor area, you can take a break and learn a bit about the area’s history.
Walking the loop clockwise offers some of the best coastal views early on, but you can go either way. The trail is exposed in parts, so bringing water, sunscreen, and a hat is a good idea. If you visit during whale season, the nearby Fairfax Lookout is a great spot to watch for them.
