About this walk...
Starting at Basin Beach, a secluded spot known for its calm waters and rocky outcrops, the trail ascends via a staircase at the northern end of the beach, leading you to the Mona Vale Headland Reserve. From here, the path meanders through coastal heathland, offering panoramic views of Bungan Beach to the north and Basin Beach to the south. The reserve is a popular spot for paragliders and hang gliders, adding a dynamic element to the tranquil surroundings. As you continue along the headland, the trail provides opportunities for birdwatching and enjoying the natural beauty of the area. The return journey follows the same path, allowing walkers to enjoy different perspectives of the landscape. This walk is suitable for most fitness levels, though some sections involve uneven terrain and elevation changes. It's advisable to wear appropriate footwear and carry water, especially during warmer months.
