ABOUT THIS BEACH
Tucked away in the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Resolute looks out over Pittwater towards Station Beach on the Northern Beaches Peninsula. Though it is not easy so easy to get to, the beautifully clear, calm, turquoise water makes the trek worth it! Bask in the sunshine, take a dip in the ocean or watch the sailboats go by on Pittwater. I recommend going in the morning – by afternoon the sun begins to hide behind the hills. There are no amenities, so be sure to take a toilet stop before walking down at the Resolute Picnic Area!
To access, you will need to park at West Head or Resolute Picnic Area (park entry fee – all-day pass is $12), and head to the walking track. Take a stop by West Head Beach along the way for some more stunning views! I highly recommend wearing sneakers or enclosed shoes, as the dirt path can be muddy and rocky. Once you reach the waterfall, cross the rocks to the other side and follow the cascade all the way down to the beach. The walk is approximately 45 minutes.
If you’re feeling up for it, continue walking along the track to Great Mackerel Beach!
