ABOUT THIS BEACH
With calm, sheltered waters, grassy picnic spots, and a dog-friendly beach (off-leash before 9am and after 4pm), it’s perfect for a slow, sunny day with friends, family, or your four-legged companion. A short bush track connects Sirius Cove to Taronga Zoo and other harbour walks, so you can combine your swim with a scenic wander. The water here is gentle enough for even the most cautious swimmers, and the leafy foreshore gives it a “holiday in the city” feel.
Pack a picnic or grab takeaway coffee and pastries from a nearby café before spreading out under the trees. Kids will love the small playground, while dogs will be living their best lives in the shallows.
YOU'LL LOVE
• Calm, harbour-sheltered water (great for kids and less confident swimmers)
• Dog-friendly beach (off-leash hours apply)
• Grassy foreshore and shaded picnic spots
• Playground for little ones
• Access to scenic harbour bushwalks, including Taronga Zoo walk
KEEP IN MIND
• No lifeguards on duty - so keep an eye on little swimmers
• It’s a small beach, so it can feel busy on sunny weekends
• Dogs are only off-leash before 9am and after 4pm
• Minimal food options right at the beach - bring snacks or grab something on the way
PARKING INFO
There’s a small car park right by the beach, but it fills quickly on weekends and in summer. Surrounding street parking is available but can involve a bit of a walk down (and back up!) the hill. Paid parking applies in the main lot - free street spots are your best bet if you arrive early.
