ABOUT THIS BEACH

This secluded gem is nestled within the Sydney Harbour National Park. While not easily discovered (it took me years), the journey involves a rocky scramble down to the sand, a small adventure well rewarded. The water is a stunning turquoise colour, crystal clear. It’s perfect for snorkelling and fishing or spending the day in a more secluded area. TOP TIP: If you decide to snorkel here, it would be smart to take a friend. The current can be strong and there are rips….you don’t want to wash away!

To access Washaway Beach, you will need to park at Debroyd Head (Debroyd Scenic Drive). Head towards the lighthouse walk, and you will find an intersection to turn off towards Washaway. There are no signs, so I would say use your Maps on your phone to help you find the right track!
