ABOUT THIS BEACH
Curl Curl Beach is a gorgeous beach situated between Freshwater and Dee Why. It is split up into the North and the South, with Surf Life Saving Clubs at each end. “North Curly” is usually a hot spot for keen surfers, particularly those who are more experienced as the swell can be quite big out the back.
The north end where the flags are situated is great for swimming, especially for children as the water is shallow for a long time.
Alternatively, South Curl Curl is where the main rockpool is situated and marks the start of a beautiful boardwalk around the headland to Freshwater Beach. Just be careful if you’re swimming in the ocean at the south end – there are plenty of dangerous rips, so stay between the flags!

KEEP IN MIND
• Dangerous rips are common in the middle and south ends - swim only between the flags.
• The north end’s shallow water can suddenly drop off past the flagged area - watch kids closely.
